Snake/Jellyfish
Black Mamba
I chose the black mamba snake and the jellyfish since I believe I share qualities with these two animals. Due to some events in my life, I became shy, nervous, really quiet, independent, and a fighter when I feel like someone is pooking me constantly. Black mambas when cornered, these snakes will raise their heads, spread their cobra-like neck flap, open their black mouths and hiss. If an attacker persists, the mamba will strike not once, but repeatedly, injecting large amounts of potent neurons-and cardiotoxin with each strike. In a way I feel like I'm a black mamba that when is out of their comfort zone , they either get away or fight. In this case I tend to fight back and I no longer run away from the people who makes me feel bad.
Jellyfish
Jellyfish move by the wind that guides them in different directions and live in harmony with nature and follow its rules. They know how to survive without a brain, heart, bones, or eyes. They don't attack humans, most stings occur when people accidentally touch a jellyfish. They follow their instincts readily and quietly. I chose the jellyfish because they are passive, quiet, and always finds a way how to survive. I consider myself calm, and quiet, a person that goes with the flow, and is not afraid of trying new things in life. Like the jellyfish, I guide myself by instinct, I follow my own rules and trust my heart when I meet new people, explore and do things.
I decided to combine these two animals because I love snakes and jellyfishes. I have the strength of a black mamba when feel in danger, but I'm passive and free marine spirit like the jellyfish. I wanted the jellyfish to have a somewhat spiky look, so I made the decision to cut the mambas head, and integrated it in the tentacles of the jellyfish. I chose to make something simple as a keychain to showcase it in my backpack hehe :).
This assignment was fun and somewhat easy to do. I enjoyed the process of learning how to do a 3D printing object.
Reflection
I had so much fun creating this project I used the program thinkercad to design the jellyfish and to incorporate the snake's heads into the tentacles. Using the program was somewhat easy, but at the same time, it took me a few attempts to get the overall shape. I wanted to had the mamba heads with a spike look, but I did not expect the final print to look deform. I will do another copy of my Jellyfish/mamba snake in a bigger size to get the right proportion of the mamba heads.
